The Town Recorder is responsible for properly maintaining the financial operation of the Town ad oversees the Water Administration Department and the Meter Readers. This department oversees all Town department financials, provides financial guidance to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen and validates the fiances of several non-profit Town partnerships.

This includes implementing proper accounting procedures, the proper administration of all town revenues and expenditures, and the monthly financial statements that are reviewed and approved by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen. The Recorder is also responsible for the proper handling of all meeting minutes and recorded documents. Town Recorder can be reached at 423.753.1037.
All water billing, collection of taxes and payment of fines are handled through the Town Recorder’s office. The Town Recorder has six staff members working in the office and is responsible for the activities of the Parts/Inventory Clerk and the five-member meter reading staff.
