It’s important for children to start learning about the value of good water quality from a young age. With the help of the activities below, children can learn about science, creeks and rivers and stormwater. In addition, organizations can schedule with the Fire Department or the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation to come and teach all about stormwater and good water quality.
Fire Department Community Service
The Fire Division undertakes many community service activities at schools, homes, daycares, businesses, churches and other organizations. In addition to fire safety, the Fire Division also teaches groups about stormwater pollution and awareness. More information about this program can be obtained by calling the Fire Department at 423.753.1053
Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation – Johnson City Field Office
