Visitors Center

The Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center and Old Town Emporium is a multi-purpose facility used to welcome visitors to Tennessee’s Oldest Town. The center also serves as a local artisan’s shop and a bookstore, where you can find handmade Appalachian crafted items as well as a wide selection of local history books. The Visitors Center offers venue space for rent to community groups, business sectors, and for private/public events.

While here you can pick up an official Historic Jonesborough Visitors Guide, self-guided Strolling Tour map, local and regional maps as well as answers to any Jonesborough questions you may have. The Center also houses the Jonesborough-Washington County History Museum which is filled with early East Tennessee handmade furniture and early photos of Jonesborough as a stage coach town. Take a few minutes and browse through the Old Town Emporium Gift Shop for books by local authors, handmade crafts and official Historic Jonesborough merchandise and souvenirs.

The Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center is open and staffed seven (7) days a week; and a host will be present to assist with questions, provide event information for current & upcoming events and help with directions to make the most of your time in the Storytelling Capital of the World. Our front desk staff also serves as operators of the Town’s box office for ticketed events and operations such as the Jonesborough Repertory Theatre, StoryTown Radio Show and the Jonesborough Area Merchants & Services Association (JAMSA) events.
