Public Safety Officer
The Jonesborough Police Department is accepting applications for a Public Safety Officer. Beginning Salary – $22.47 but may be negotiable based on experience and POST certification. Performs general duty police and fire protection work as a member of a combined police-fire unit. This employee works under the direct supervision of the Police Sergeant and the general supervision of the Police Chief. A Public Safety Officer is assigned to a Public Safety Zone and is responsible for the rapid and efficient performance of specialized duties under emergency conditions involving personal hazard. The work is normally performed under the supervision of a superior officer, but the Public Safety Officer may frequently have to use independent discretion in emergencies. Wastewater Worker I
The Town of Jonesborough is now accepting applications for a Wastewater Worker I. Performs intermediate skilled mechanical work in the installation, maintenance and repair of wastewater collection system, pumps, and manholes. Employees in this class perform repair and maintenance on broken wastewater lines; installation of wastewater equipment; maintenance of equipment and supply inventories. All work is supervised while in progress and reviewed upon completion by the Wastewater Maintenance Collection Supervisor, or the Sewer Construction Supervisor. Beginning salary – $18.31 an hour. Volunteer/Reserve Firefighter
The Town of Jonesborough will accept applications for the Reserve Firefighter program. This is a volunteer-based position. Must have a valid Tennessee Driver’s License and be 18 years of age.
This position includes duties such as structural firefighting, brush firefighting, and hazard materials incidents.
Once accepted Reserve Firefighters will then undergo 64 hours of training, CPR training, and EVOC training.
